PayPal decided to block old browsers since there are many security issues, that can be exploited. When user open PayPal website, attacker can exploit the browser to force the user to open fake PayPal themed website.

Uncareful user can fill those user and password information at that fake website. Attacker can use those user and password information to steal the user money.

The blocked browser includes, IE 4 and below, Opera 7.2 and below, Firefox 1.0, Netscape 4.X and below, and other old browsers.

The old browsers like IE 6, Opera 8, and Firefox 1.5 fall into the warned browsers. These browser are not blocked. The warning message will be shown to user. The warning message tells user to update their browser.

The first tier browsers which able to login to PayPal normally includes IE 7, Firefox 2.0, and Opera 9.

Please update your browser if you want to login to PayPal.
